is doing a master's degree in Public Policy in Singapore. She has immersed herself in journalism since 2008. She has freelanced for local and foreign media publications. When she doesn't write for news, she blogs at www.blueladyblog.com. She co-founded an youth-led group specialising in short-film to working to promote youth-produced Khmer films. A community event organizer, Kounila loves co-organizing events such as FilmCamp Phnom Penh, BlogFestAsia 2012, and Wikipedia editing workshops. She finds herself passionate in media and travels.

Cambodia Bans Internet Cafes Near Schools

Internet cafes are now banned within 500 meters of schools or educational buildings. Internet cafes are also prohibited from welcoming anyone under the age of 18, because the "internet poses numerous dangers such as terrorism, economic crimes & distribution of pornography."
