Every year, on the third Sunday of March, the National Day of Salsa takes place in Puerto Rico. However during the entire month there are a variety of events related to this important celebration.
This was the case on Sunday, March 11th at the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music where the traditional concert in commemoration of Salsa Day was held. Salsa devotees congregated in the Conservatory's Rafael Hernández Ampitheater to enjoy this cultural and musical expression. An expression that has gone around the world to become one of the most popular and most recognizable examples of Latin American and Caribbean music and dance.
This year the singer Cheo Feliciano and the singer and trumpet player Jerry Medina, two of the most important exponents of Salsa in Puerto Rico, joined the Conservatory students to celebrate the Day of Salsa.
