Global Voices Sub-Saharan Africa coverage won the Telekom Highway Africa Award for “Best African ICT Blog”. Regional editor Ndesanjo Macha accepted the award (and trophy!) in South Africa on September 11, 2012 on behalf of the team. Blogger and multi-media journalist Dorothy Dandejo from Cameroon was the runner up in the same category.
