Sudan: May the wind of change sweep through the Upper Nile

On a Friday full of hope, freedom, resistance and perseverance, the Egyptian people showed the world that even if there are “wannabe pharaohs” in Egypt they are out there to uproot them. For the past two weeks Egypt have inspired youths in many parts of the Middle East and Africa to speak against injustice wherever it might be. Sudan is not an exception.

Sudanese online have been sending tweets of support and wishes to the Egyptian people on the lower Nile basin. The basic message is: We congratulate you and salute you for a wonderful inspiration and the power to empower us and many people around the world.

@Nilempress Congratulations/ Mabrouk #Egypt #Jan25. May the winds of change sweep toward the valley of the Upper Nile #Sudan #Jan30

@SudaneseThinker Iranian revolution was not called “Cassette Tape” revolution. Stop calling #Jan25#SidiBouzid “FB Revolution.” *PEOPLE* Power!

SudaneseThinker Good night Twitter & Congrats Egypt. 2nite, after more than 2 weeks of crappy sleep, I'll sleep happily like a baby! Arab dictators won't!

@SudanGuardian May this fire of hope and freedom sweep to the whole middleeast & Africa and ignite the fire of hope within its people #Egypt #Sudan #Jan25

And while SudaneseThinker sleeps happily like a baby, Nesrine wonders how would many Arab heads of state would go to sleep:

@NesrineMalik Not a single Arab head of state is going to sleep tonight.

Simsimt points out some of his concerns and thoughts hoping that revolution came a little earlier:

@simsimt Had #Jan25 revolution came just a little earlier, we may have had a chance to convince southerns there's a bright side to being an Arab.

And a wonderful ending to wrap this post up:

@binmugahid In other news, dictators around the round scramble to rename all squares in capitals to Triangles. Cant be too careful #egypt #jan25
