Egypt: Reports of Police Brutality, Arrests and Live Ammuntion

More reports are emerging of arrests and police harassment and brutality, as Egyptians rise for the for the third day in a row. There are also reports of deaths but the details and exact toll remain sketchy.

Dima Al Khatib announces:

DAY 3 of Egyptian Uprising: 1000 people arrested or more so far, according to independent legal sources

Ahmed Abd El-Fatah tweets:

أخويا نقل مصاب من ش القصر العيني لمستشفي المنيرة وهناك ضابط قبض عليه
My brother took an injured person from the Qasr Ayni to the Munira Hospital and an officer arrested him there

Shawky Ragab adds:

المدون عبدالرحمن عياش اعتقل من مظاهرات المنصورة واخبار عن انه يعيش ظروف قاسيه جدا فى مقر الامن
Blogger Abdulrahman Ayyash was arrested in the Mansoura protests and there are news that he is undergoing terrible circumstances at the police headquarters

And @shmpOngO notes:

They r arresting the injured protesters from hospitals

Gigi Ibrahim shares those injuries in this photograph and tweets:

I have one of those on my back..it still hurts down with pigs!

And the Guardian‘s reporter in Cairo Jack Shenker, who was beaten and arrested alongside protesters in Cairo, files this harrowing recording while locked up in the back of a security forces truck with scores of protesters.

Meanwhile, Farrah reports on the use of a “yellow chemical spray” on protesters at a protest in Ismailia. She tweets:

Central forces in Ismaley-ya are currently spraying a yellow chemical
spray on protesters which makes them dizzy &lose thier balance

And Ian Lee, tweeting from a protest in Suez, writes:

Rocks fill the air. Protesters charging. Suez. Reports of live rounds being used.
