The failing gasoline prices in Guatemala means that fuel is more affordable for more people, however, there are also some negative aspects to the lower prices, as Mr. Man of Arte [es] writes, such as that there will be more vehicles on the streets and highways.

What the world recently experienced was an artificial increase in gasoline prices due to excessive greed and speculation – not due to lower supplies or increased demand. That sort of scenario causes short term changes in social behavior that would not be present in those situations where supply and demand rule the economy.
I would say that people being able to afford food in Guatemala is by far the most important argument.
I want a green Guatemala, but not at the expense of the poor people.
