Kenya: The 3 opiums of Kenyan voters

Kumekucha highlights three main problems of Kenyan voters: “Tribalism. Corruption. Short-term memory. These are the three opium’s we must exhale out of our body system before you go vote on the 27th.”

  • I could not agree more. The narrative of the entire election seems to be tribal. So may years after Independence its a shame that no one is evaluating things on the basis of the only truly relevant question,

    Who can create the most [quantity] gainful employment for Kenyans at the the highest average mean [quality]. As President Clinton used to say; ‘Its the economy stupid.’

    Without economic empowerment, a vote is worth zero because the absolute need for something now will always overcome the urge to think long term and rationally and therefore, our rights are traded for some small kitu kidogo now.

    My dream is that we all recognise we are one people and no Country that wants to compete in this brave new world can afford to look at things through an ethnic prism bcause then you are tieing one hand behind your back, because you are excluding swathes of your talent pool for no good reason.
