I was born on April 1, 1975, in Kula, small town in the north Serbia. I live in Novi Sad which is well-known by “Exit” - the best European music festival.
I graduated Serbian language and literature at the Belgrade University.

Global Voices is a very good and interesting project which reminded me on old age Latin's saying: “wox populi wox Dei!” I think: if there are more voices, it will be much more truth into the World. That was the most important reason because I started to write for GV.

I am grateful to Rebecca MecKinnon. I read her interview about GV in the “Link”, Serbian online magazine specialized for media. I am also grateful to Veronica Khokhlova and Ljubisa Bojic who gave me valuable advice and supported me to start blogging for GV in June 2007.

Serbia: Gypsies' Houses Torn Down in Belgrade

This July, Belgrade will host the 25th World University Games, whose participants will stay in the newly-built University Village. There used to be some 350 Gypsy houses near that place, but, following an order of the City Department of Inspections, about 50 houses were torn down on April 3. A few dozen children, women, old and sick Gypsies spent the night without shelter, and were later attacked by the neo-Nazis. Serbia: Remembering NATO Bombing 10 Years Later

On March 24, 1999, NATO forces began attack on Serbia and Montenegro. The bombing went for 78 days. A few thousand people were killed, many buildings, bridges, railroads, roads and factories were destroyed. Also, many people still experience mental and psychic effects of the fear they had been through. Ten years later, Serbian bloggers are reminded of those terrible days. Serbia: Pescanik's Web Site Down, Radio Broadcast Disrupted, Editor's Car Destroyed

A few days ago, Serbian web site www.pescanik.net was hacked and the weekly radio broadcast of the same name was disrupted. Serbia: Blogger Krugolina Borup Wins Disruption Prize

On Dec. 18, Sinisa Boljanovic wrote about Serbian blogger Krugolina Borup and her "Mother Courage" initiative. A few days later, Krugolina Borup (whose real name is Branka Stamenkovic) became the fifth laureate of the Disruption Prize, which Luna TBWA Agency has been awarding to individuals or organizations from Serbia for social liability and changing of social conventions. 2 comments  · read »

"Knife, Wire, Srebrenica!" (Nož, Žica, Srebrenica!) is one of the favorite slogans of Serbian nationalists. A while ago, there appeared a Facebook group with the same name and 1,045 members - as well as a counter-group, whose 10,584 members are appealing to Facebook administrators to close the NOŽ ŽICA SREBRENICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! group because it "glorifies the acts of genocide that took place in Srebrenica, where 8,000 men and boys were murdered."
