The UK Police has used Universal jurisdiction law to arrest a Nepali army colonel residing in the in East Sussex town of the UK. He has been accused of torturing during the decade-long (1996-2006) civil war in Nepal.

The recent Delhi gang-rape case has not only evoked rage across India but also spread indignation to its neighboring countries like Nepal. Activists in Nepal have been protesting in front of the Prime Minister ’s residence at Baluwatar demanding justice for Sita Rai, who was raped in Kathmandu.

Nepal: Bloggers Share Their Own Stories of Earthquake
On Sunday evening of September 18, Nepal experienced a strong earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale that had its epicentre in the border region of Taplejung of Nepal and Sikkim of India. The Home Ministry in Nepal has reported 9 deaths and 24 serious injuries in the country at the time of writing.
