I'm a California native who has lived and worked in Slovakia and Central Europe for 5 years. I'm very much interested in the geo-political changes that have taken place in “Eastern Europe” and how Slovaks and their country are adapting to being part of the EU. I'm also interested in the ways Slovaks distinguish themselves from other Europeans through their unique culture and way of life. My hobby is my website The Foreigner's Guide to Living in Slovakia where I write about things foreigners may want to know about Slovakia and provide resources for those interested in Slovak life, culture, and language.

Slovakia: Refusal to Recognize Independent Kosovo
The Slovak government announced some months ago that they will not recognize Kosovo's independence. Furthermore, the Foreign Ministry has stated that the Slovak government will not recognize any documents from an independent Kosovo, including a Kosovar passport. Below are some Slovak bloggers' views on the issue.
