On his new blog, Freedom in Azerbaijan, Emin Milli writes about the restrictions on his freedom since being released from prison. In particular, the dissident blogger and former prisoner of conscience says that he is unable to leave the country until the end of his parole, but that it “will not restrict my basic right and very human desire to know more and to share what I know with the rest of the world”.

Inspired by popular uprising in the Middle East and North Africa as well as continuing the wave of pro-democracy protests in Baku, the last being held on 12 March, the opposition's latest “unsanctioned” rally took place yesterday. Twitter provided coverage of the heavy-handed dispersal.

Following a youth protest held in Baku, the Azerbaijani capital, on 11th March, some bloggers have been critical of those responsible for organizing the action via Facebook. As a result, one of those organizers answers such criticism on a new blog.
