On Twitter the hashtag #EleccionesEC [elections Ecuador], was used to circulate the unofficial results:

For instance, FRANCO FERNANDEZ S. (@francofer1), briefly announced:

@francofer1: Según exit poll de medios privados Correa 58.8% Lasso 20.0% Lucio 5.7 Noboa 3.3 #EleccionesEC”

@francofer1 [es]: According to private media exit polls, Correa 58.8% Lasso 20.0% Lucio 5.7 Noboa 3.3 #EleccionesEC”

Tuesman Castillo (@tuesman), electronic and telecomunication engineer from Loja, reported about ballot counting at station 16 in Loja:

@tuesman: 108 para #Correa contra 78 para #Lasso en #mesa16 #loja #parroquiasucre

And from abroad, Patricia Villarruel (@PattyVillarruel) stated:

@PattyVillarruel: 8 de cada 10 votantes se habrían inclinado por la candidatura de @MashiRafael en Madrid. Son datos provisionales de escrutinio #EleccionesEC

Meanwhile, Jacques J. Lara MD (‏@JacquesJLR), wondered:

@JacquesJLR: Señores revolucionarios, para cuando la consulta popular, para que después de los 4 años, el Mashi siga en el poder? #EleccionesEC #RC [Rafael Correa]

@JacquesJLR [es]: Dear revolutionary gentlemen, when will you be holding the popular consultation, so after 4 years, Mashi will still be in power? #EleccionesEC #RC

According to these unofficial results, the population voted democratically for the re-election of President Rafael Correa, and he will be in office four more years.

Nonetheless, there are is some discontent among the population. As with Ally Narvaez (@AllyNarvaez), who stated ironically:

@AllyNarvaez: Fracaso Ecuador fracaso..!! aguantar 4 años mas de imponencia…!! “Bravo..!” #EleccionesEC

@AllyNarvaez: Failure Ecuador, failure…!! To put up with four more years of imposition…!! “Bravo..!” #EleccionesEC
