The website BallenitaSi.org lists [1] [es] nine resisting communities in Ecuador that, “is going through one of the worse community-level crisis about mining and oil extraction all along the country”.
One of such communities is Sarayaku [2], in Pastaza [3] Province:

El caso de Sarayaku por otorgar a inicios de los años 90 una concesión petrolera en su territorio sin considerar una consulta previa, se llevó adelante luego de que en diciembre de 2009, la Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos emitió un informe de fondo concluyendo que Ecuador ha violado, entre otros, los derechos de Sarayaku a la vida, la integridad, la propiedad, y las garantías judiciales.
Sarayaku is the most successful community when it comes to defend its territory.
The Sarayaku case for giving in the early 90s an oil concession in its territory without considering any previous consultation was carried out after a December 2009 report by Inter-American Court of Human Rights where the conclusion was that Ecuador has violated, among others, Sarayaku rights to life, integrity, property and court guarantees.
