Peruvian human rights organizations are speaking out against [1] [es] the appointment [2] [es] of pro-Fujimori [3] congresswoman Martha Chávez [4] [es] as a member of the Human Rights Commission in Congress due to her history [5] [es] of disrespect of human rights.
Yesterday, November 5, Congress rejected [6] [es] the request by congressman Heriberto Benítez -who had previously voted for Martha Chávez- to disable the commission.
Human rights groups organized a protest [7] for November 5. On social networks the call to protest was made under the hashtag #FueraMarthaChávez [8] [es] (Out Martha Chávez) [8].
