Experts and scholars from Germany and Brazil will get together at a symposium to discuss Democracy in the Digital Era [1] [pt] from October 17 to 18, 2013 in Salvador, the capital of the Brazilian state of Bahia. The event will be broadcast live via video stream [2].

In the morning of the first day, a debate with Christoph Bieber (@drbieber [3]), Vinícius Wu (@vinicius_wu [4]) and Sivaldo Pereira (@sivaldop [5]) will address challenges and perspectives of digital democracy.

In the afternoon, Fabiano Angélico (@FAngelico [6]), Jan-Hinrik Schmidt (@janschmidt [7]) and Kathrin Voss will discuss social participation and public transparency in the digital world. 

October 18 will see Wilson Gomes (@willgomes [8]) and Jamil Marques (@marquesjamil [9]) debating few forms of online politics. In the afternoon, Gerhard Vowe and Camilo Aggio (@camilo_aggio [10]) will analyze political campaigns in digital media. The entry is free.
