The very existence of this island is threatened by Black Sand Mining – the process of extracting magnetite from beaches having rich deposits of it. Black Sand Mining leads to coastal erosion, sea pollution, loss of habitat for marine life and reduced protection from natural calamities. This must be stopped before it's too late!
