The Guča Trumpet Festival [1], also known as the Dragačevo Assembly, prepares for its 52nd annual edition in Central Serbia, as a documentary following a group of Balkanophile musicians from the U.S., who participated in the festival four years in a row, premieres [2] in Los Angeles and New York.

Brasslands [3] follows this 12-piece band of enthusiastic American-born musicians from New York, as they travel to Serbia to be the first Americans to compete at the renowned Guča festival [4]. For one week of every year, this otherwise insignificant Serbian town explodes with the riotous sounds of half a million brass music fans as bands compete in the world’s biggest trumpet contest.
