Truthloader: New YouTube Show on Citizen Journalism

Truthloader is a new daily YouTube show, produced by UK-based ITN in partnership with YouTube, that brings investigative and citizen journalism together, focusing mostly on under-reported news stories from around the globe. I took the time to look up some of the sources and they do not seem reliable, to say the least. For instance, there was an clip on Alison Grimes, who is running against Mitch McConnell in Kentucky. The author found someone whose connection to Grimes was not specified and who speculated that she was taking a pro-coal stance simply to be elected and was secretly plotting to end the coal industry. This would be suspicious enough but the source was James O’Keefe who has put out a number of heavily edited hit pieces and has zero credibility. As much as some people love to bash the “main stream media” there are many news outlets that still do some basic fact checking. Truthloader is no different than a blog where anyone who wants can say anything he wants and there is no reason to believe any of it.
