Uruguayan blogger Anna Donner Rybak lists many reasons ^[1] [es] for celebrating the arrival of a new year, even though many can find it “ridiculous”:

Many people say they are fed up with these times of Santa Clauses, of people that are happy, many say say many things.

It might be cliché, but I am happy to see happy people. Life is tough for us to waste those little happy instants. Life is hard for everyone, life is a sine curve, with happinesses and pains.
