Four days after cutting local access to Facebook, Tajik authorities have ordered that internet providers and mobile operators also block the website of Radio Ozodi, RFE/RL‘s Tajik Service. The website has been one of the most popular news sources in Tajik. Blogger Temur Mengliev warns [ru] that efforts to restrict access to independent media might backfire:
