An estimated 400 Egyptians have crossed the Rafah crossing to Gaza today, to show solidarity with the Palestinians and take humanitarian aid. Mahmood Abdulmonem shares this photograph of the delegation, outside Al Shifaa Hospital, in Gaza.

Reem Abdellatif comments on the photograph:

@Reem_Abdellatif: Ladies & gents, #Egyptians have occupied #Gaza

    @Reem_Abdellatif @HalaKanaan1 why to use this term ” occupied ”

    Good point here

      I’m pretty sure they are referring to occupy wall st in america, and they equivocating what happened in Cairo and the protests to the wall st protests… somehow…. and they consider this by extension also part of the Occupy movement as a whole.

        I doubt they’re equivocating, Caleb — they seem quite clear about supporting Gazans. Perhaps they’re equating the two protests, but I think they’re really just opposing Israeli aggression. Good for them.
