The Japanese prime minister's office has opened an account [ja] on LINE, an instant messaging application for smartphone and PCs, to provide useful information to citizens, such as disaster information in case of emergency.
LINE is ran by NHN Japan, a subsidiary company of Korean Internet giant NHN. The PM's Office also uses other social media including mixi, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
A DeviantART website user wrote how South Korea's Children and Youth Protection law, that cracks down on child porn, can greatly undermine freedom of expression. Rough English translation appears in the latter half of the post. (There soon will be a detailed GV post on this issue)
