Cambodia: Mandatory Internet Surveillance Cameras

The Cambodian government is enforcing a circular drafted earlier this year which requires internet cafes to set up surveillance cameras and to register callers. The circular is seen by some netizens as a threat to internet freedom.

Myanmar: New Foreign Investment Law Passed

The Union Parliament of Myanmar has already passed the new foreign direct investment law without the controversial provisions which included the requirement of a US$5 million minimum investment.

Video: San Cristobal Volcano Eruption in Northern Nicaragua

YouTube's Citizentube has a playlist of user submitted videos showing the dramatic volcanic eruptions of September 8th in Nicaragua. The San Cristobal volcano, the tallest in this Central American country, erupted at 9:02 am on Saturday, releasing steam and ash and causing authorities to evacuate more than 3000 people from Chinandega.
