World: Why Rape Jokes Are Not Funny

Hannah maintains the blog Afternoon Snooze Button and publishes a rather detailed post aiming at demonstrating “why rape jokes are uniquely bad”. She writes: “People who enjoy rape jokes commonly want to be told that rape isn’t a big deal, that it’s just sex, and that other people think so, too. [...] That doesn’t mean that anyone who’s ever laughed at a rape joke is a future rapist. What it does mean is that these jokes provide the ammunition that these people need to justify themselves and think, ‘Hey, rape is not that big of a deal. It’s funny. Look, they all think so, too.’ “

I have one thing to say: “Our rape culture is fucked up and rape
victims suffer even more because of it.” I wanna try to explain why rape
jokes are NOT funny, but I have exhausted myself trying to make people
    understand.
