Iran: ‘Zuckerberg should take action against insulting Islam’

The state-funded group, “The Islamic Revolution Council of IT and Digital Media Activists” have asked Mark Zuckerberg in an open letter to take action against those who ‘insult Islam’ in Facebook and prosecute them. They compared those who ‘insult Islam’ in Facebook to terrorist attacks in Iraq against Shia people and shrines.

Seriously, what a joke. Countries outside of Islamic countries typically enjoy varying degrees of freedom of speech, and I think it’s funny that Islamic countries are trying to subdue people’s freedoms even outside of their own borders.

Your religion is not special. You can insult Christians and Jews, but the second Islam is insulted, or you feel it’s insult, you throw the grown up equivalent to a toddler throwing a temper tantrum. Get over it.
