The post also includes a clip, produced by the NIDA civil movement in Azerbaijan, parodying a promotional video for Baku, the country's capital. Meanwhile, The Economist's Eastern Approaches blog sarcastically ponders whether 75-year old crooner Englebert Humperdinck, the United Kingdom's entry in the international song contest, can bring freedom to Azerbaijan.

With anti-gay hysteria breaking out in nationalist and official circles, Unzipped: Gay Armenia now reports that Ruben Hayrapetyan, a ruling Republican Party MP and President of the Armenian Football Association, has joined in by declaring that homosexuals should be ‘punished.' One of Armenia's notorious oligarchs also known as ‘Nemetz (German) Rubo,' the blog says that one social media user has suggested he change his nickname to ‘Fascist Rubo.'
