Brazil: The Death of Socrates, A Brazilian Idol
Sócrates, one of the greatest Brazilian soccer players, died at the age of 57 on December 4, 2011, a result of septic shock caused by excessive consumption of alcohol over the years. The blogosphere pays a last tribute to this soccer idol whose rare "critical thinking" made him a political leader in and out of the field.
USA: Uncertain Future of Student Occupy Movement in California
The pepper spraying incident against a group of peacefully protesting students, which occurred on November 18th on the Davis campus of the University of California, has called the attention of the media and fueled the discussion on police misconduct. The student occupation continues, but the future of the movement is unknown.

Pakistan: Reaction on NATO's Attack Killing 24 Pakistani Soldiers
November 26, 2011 marked the death of 24 Pakistani troops as a result of a violent attack by NATO helicopters and fighter aircrafts on Pakistan Army's border posts in Mohmand Agency of FATA in Pakistan. No less than 13 troops were also injured in the attack. The attack is being condemned and protested against by politicians, journalists, religious organizations and members of the civil society ever since.

Libya: #OccupyTripoli Protests Against Carrying Weapons
Libyans took to the streets of the capital Tripoli today, to demonstrate against carrying weapons. They gathered at the famous Martyr's Square, formerly known as Green Square. Many Twitter users were on hand to provide live coverage of the event dubbed #OccupyTripoli.
