Flooding disaster in Thailand

More than 40 people are now confirmed dead due to rising floodwaters in the northeast and central parts of Thailand. Parts of Bangkok, the country’s capital, are now flooded too. This is the country’s worst flooding disaster in almost half a century.

This blogger witnessed how citizens are helping and uniting to prevent more flooding casualties

It was wonderful to see the community getting together to protect their belongings. Around 20 people teamed up to make sandbags, women folding and sewing, the men and children piling sand into the bags, and every so often a vehicle coming to move the bags to where they were needed

The current flooding in Thailand is a disaster. The death toll is reportedly more than 35 and millions are said to be impacted. Some areas are completely cut off and Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has said that some places may be inundated for weeks or a month.
