Colombia: Videobloggers Make 1 Video Per Day in 2010

In late 2009, an interesting initiative emerged in Colombia, when videoblogger Juan Falla proposed that members of the community create one video per day during 2010. The idea was communicated through a Google Group called Vlogolombia / Video Creators of Colombia [es], and the response was immediate. Now, there are many who have joined the project giving life to the process.

OccioTV [es], the digital magazine devoted to training through videoblogs, writes about the process during the first days of the year:

Some Colombian vloggers took part in the initiative to make a videoblog posting every day until the end of 2010, in other words, 365 posts throughout the year, and which was started by @juanfallaesp. He was joined by @alejandroangel, @albornoz, @fabricadecosas, @cafeycassette, as well as the two females @ErikaPao and @Luisasantiago, and at the time of publication we do not know of who else has joined…

The initiative had such an impact that Ana Valleja, who initially did not get involved in the project, now explains on Twitter that she wants to participate. She uploads her first video called Traveling in Fahrenheit 451 where she reads a short passage from the Ray Bradbury book.

She also adds a few words to her blog entry about the video:

Sometimes, one can travel when sitting in a chair. With a book in hand. And it may be an overused cliché, but to have a book in mind, word after work, is the best trips, movies, rumors that run through my mind when I have the story on the tip of my tongue, in my brain's neurons. Fahrenheit 451, a trip through a not-so-imaginary world, where the books are so dangerous that the firefighters, instead of putting out fires, burn books,to protect the modern man from these stories that transport them to other possible worlds, with dangerous, beautiful, or revolutionary ideas.

A video-blogger that publishes a video every day for a year is now being created in Colombia. The participants and followers are adding their ideas to help organize the process. Alejandro Angel writes that participants and followers should use the hashtag #vlog365:

So the question remains, will 2010 be the year of the videoblog in Colombia? Some twitter users like Mauricio Gonzalez (@mauricioweb) are already sending the first words of encouragement:

#vlog365

Encouragement for @Luisasantiaga @ErikaPao @alejandroangel, one must be brave and have a lot of passion to be able to make 365 videos in a year.

For those that want to see another example of a video from Vlog 365, this recent video from Juan David Escobar, one of the videobloggers who is making one video per day, shows a recent trip through the streets of Ciudad Bolívar on a motorcycle in order to purchase some of his favorite empanadas.
