Hundreds of Iranian men have dressed as women in Hijab to support Majid Tavakoli, a student activist who was arrested on December 7, and express solidarity with women. Iranian authorities claim Mr. Tavakoli was dressed as a woman to escape after delivering a speech in Tehran on Student Day.
However, human rights activists in Iran have published a report from an eyewitness saying: “All the pictures published by the state media are false and a clear use of immoral means against student and civil activists in Iran.”
Hundreds of Iranian men are now dressed as women in their FaceBook profiles. Here is a YouTube video in support of Majid that has collected some of these photos (begins after 42 seconds).

This is great! We’re all Majid!
May be fun until it gets deadly. What can I do my brothers and sisters?
I love to see human courage of this sort, where the little guy is willing to stick it to The Man, and make him look foolish in the process. I really don’t care whether they seek exactly the sort of western-style democracy I enjoy, I just care that they see oppression and are willing to stand up to it in pursuit of the freedom they themselves seek. I’ve known many Iranians in my local community over the years, and Iran is just the sort of beautiful and fascinating country I would love to be free to visit one day. Bless you, Majid.
What powerful action! Freedom of speech and action has taken a new form. I am astonished with the response of people, taking a human rights violation, and turning it into a dynamic action as a voice for human rights advocacy.
Excellent. Well done guys
The video is hilarious.
I hope it serves the purpose.
Though I know this is off track, can some one give me details of the song? it is good. I gather it is about freedom …”Azadi”… I want to know more.
