It is interesting in that Russia and a few Eastern European registrars are literally at the center of deception and crime on the Internet. The number of Russian registered sites that mask themselves as legit businesses in the US and Canada (including BBB badges, etc) and simply exist to steal credit card numbers is ridiculous. We found this out when researching legal actions when one of our law and compliance sites was hacked.

A great article about this is http://blog.unmaskparasites.com/2009/10/01/cheap-vista-or-cloaked-spam-on-high-profile-sites/ .

We are going to be dedicating an entire series at http://how-to-blog.tv to the topic of protecting your WordPress sites and how to get hackers out once they get in.
