Abdullah Waheed lists some points showing voter preferences and their vision of the future role of the Majlis (parliament) which have emerged through the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections in Maldives.
To mark the anniversary of Mumbai terror attacks, Yasser Latif Hamdani at Pak Tea House writes a letter to the Indians: “let this day signify an awakening on both sides that (says) enough with this ‘geo-strategic thinking' of one-upping each other.”
Dipen Bhattacharya at Mukto Mona criticizes the rituals of sacrifices - be it during Kali Puja for Hindus or Eid-ul-Adha sacrifices for Muslims. “Man might need to eat meat, but mass murder of helpless animals using brutal methods cannot be considered self-sacrifice,” he opines.

You seem to refer to only Dr. Abdullah Waheed’s blog when considering issues of concern to Maldivians.
There are many Maldivian blogs which covers such issues and I don’t think giving only one person’s point of view serves any real interest.
With regard to the parliamentary elections, there are many bloggers who have given further and even better insights than Dr. Waheed’s simplistic summary points.
As a responsible staff of Global Voices Online, I would appreciate if you take your job seriously and make an effort to give a comprehensive view of Maldives’ issues, rather than taking the easy way out and doing a job just for the sake of it, as your recent “highlights” of Maldives seem to demonstrate.
Hilath,
I appreciate your concerns of highlighting more Maldivian blogs and would appreciate if you could mention some links instead of making a generalized accusation (Mr Waheed is not the only one highlighted here).
We do follow the aggregator http://www.mvblogs.org/ and other Maldivian blogs and highlight what is best at a given point of time. Please note we try to avoid propaganda and personal attacks.
Global Voices is a volunteer powered citizen media initiative so we do not have the resource like a commercial media to provide an extensive coverage. That is why we rely on volunteer author from Maldives and readers like you to give your feedback and help us make the service better.
So if you feel that there are some blogs we have missed and got to be highlighted please send the links and then make your judgment. Thank you.
