“Most of the politicians will not be convicted because of a number of reason. There is a nexus between politicians, cops and criminals. On top of this the courts take years to decide on a case which allows the criminals to keep on contesting elections and winning based on goondagiri (highhandedness).

So do you think Lead India Campaign against criminals in politics will have any effect? I don’t think so.

First, getting criminals out of politics is not in the agenda or manifesto of any major political party. Forget, forget about removing criminals from politics, they are not even talking about doing anything about corruption.

Second, we need to change the law but again we cannot do this without the politicians.

Third, we need to expedite the legal process which also we cannot do.”

People MUST RESOLVE now or it might not be possible in the future to have any semblance of good governance.

Eliminating criminals and corrupt politicians must take precedence over a "stable" government.

An "unstable" government is hundred times better than a criminal and corrupt government. Corruption and criminals are inseparable.

We can always change an unstable government BUT we cannot change a criminal and corrupt government.

Individuals First and 'party' Second. Do not worry about the 'party' you support of not coming to 'power' BUT worry a lot about a 'criminal' coming to 'power' as an MP.

Voters FIRST choice must be "clean" individuals and not any party. Please rember that "Clean" individuals from different parties can give us a stable government with good governance

Wow Bhumika, thanks for this.. it is really incredible about the situation in Varanasi! It is almost comical and I bet people are just being paid off.. this is actually the best time for the masses as political parties are pampering people to crazy degrees just for the vote! so much for "democracy"... do update us on this issue..very interesting to learn about situations. thanks
