Anon,
This campaign does not know what’s the difference between a homosexual, bisexual or a transsexual to start with, you can find that clear in the comment section on their blogs.
Second, this campaign is not so much “against” LGTBQ as much as it is “for” heterosexuality only. so anything that would trouble that or shake it, they are against it.

However, I think it is inaccurate for using the “Anti-LGBT” word. The campagin is anti-homosexual and nothing is said about BT!!!

As scary as the language used by the group blog calling for the this hate week is.. the fact that it’s all happening in the Arab blogosphere and gay-friendly blogs are seen as such a threat to the status quo is a very exciting development.

Although, all things considered, I can’t see this conversation happening anywhere other than the web. How many newspapers do you see publishing pro-gay columns?.. let’s hope no one gets hurt in the real world.

So, no he does not sympathize with the campaign, but in order to try our best as GV authors to keep the posts balanced all that you were referring are direct quotes from the bloggers posts.

As for harsh responses, it did garner harsh responses, because I believe it deserves a harsh response, how is that sympathizing with the campaign?

I don’t know if you read Arabic, but this post is a very neutral and unbiased re-collection of the other posts. I know for a fact that the Author wouldn’t ever support such campagins. He’s merely trying to present both point of views here.

And of course the campagin is disgusting. All the self-appointed moral authorities are disgusting and ridiculous.

This post appears to be supporting this discriminatory campaign and I am very disappointed to find it on Global Voices. Saying a campaign against LGBT people in the blogosphere is a “necessary debate”? Calling the critics of a discriminatory campaign “harsh responses” and putting in scare quotes the term “latest bigoted outcry”? It IS bigoted, it is discriminatory, and LGBT people deserve the same rights as anyone else to find happiness and love in the way that is their inclination. They do not harm anyone. Hatred causes many more divisions in society.
