In Gaza, Prof. Said Abdelwahed reports: “For three years Israel gave no permission to any farmer to export flowers! Gazans had to “eat and drink' flowers for two years. Well, this year, after the invasion, Holland bought 25000 flowers to be shipped in three shipments. Yesterday, Israel permitted shipping 10000 flowers! Happy Valentines day!”

According to a report Mehdi Khazali's wife and daughter were kidnapped by the security forces and moved to an unknown place.Khazali is a blogger and publisher who had been sentenced to 14 years in prison but later a court revised his jail term to four years and half. The blogger has been on hunger strike for 38 days.

The first Get Together for Lebanese bloggers organized by LebAgg took place on February 9, 2012. ”It was a pretty casual one, the sole purpose was to kick-start a series of more get togethers for bloggers. We were hoping for some brainstorming and bloggers suggesting ideas, but the settings didn't really help whereas there was food and drinks and the bloggers were having fun..” wrote Liliane, who spearheaded this event.

Reliable sources, including one Iranian journalist, have told Global Voices that several Iranian activists and journalists have received an email threatening that they will be punished according to the “Islamic Punishment” law of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

A member of Iranian council of internet filtering says [fa]: Internet is an unwanted guest in our country. Mohammad Reza Aghamiri adds: Due to the problems of this guest, we should apply severe monitoring. He believes Google is supporting ‘disruptions' in Iran, helping opposition supporters. Several Iranian users have reported in last week they have had no access to emails.
