Following the recent ban on foreign radio broadcasts in Azerbaijan, Thoughts On The Road registers its disappointment with the move. Although Radio Free Europe will now concentrate on expanding its web site, the blog says that this is no replacement for a radio station. It also wonders how Azerbaijani students can practice their English with the BBC affected by the move.
Sheki, Azerbaijan makes two posts on specific traditions practiced in her home country. In the first post, the blog explains how the shoes of visitors to homes are paired outside the front door, and in the second it looks at pickling white cucumbers.
Sheki, Azerbaijan comments on Azerbaijan's recent victory in the European Team Chess Championship. The blog says that it is proud of the achievement and hopes for more victories.

Sad thing! I learned my English at Turkish school, but I learn to speak English, and to understand English by listening to BBC. BBC was on in my radio all the time I was at home and not asleep. How I miss the Interview, their cultural programmes and Seva Novgorodtsev, and news in every 30 minutes!
Refering to Ali message, i would like to add that Azeri people used to get true news from Radio Liberty Azeri service. What a pity!
