Pakistan: Blame Game On Mumbai Terror - The Blogosphere Speaks

Recent terror attacks in Mumbai have seriously disturbed and complicated the on-going peace dialogues between India and Pakistan. Where Indian officials are not hesitating to point fingers to Pakistan, the Pakistani officials have been denying Pakistan's involvement in the attacks. Pakistan authorities have further requested not to play the blame game and have offered their full support in the investigation. While all these are happening the Pakistani Blogosphere has a lot of important things to say:

Dr. Awab Alvi at Teeth Maestro says:

What has also sadly transpired within the following day is that the ‘official’ blame game circus is in full swing, contrary to my initial message where I expressed my relief that Pakistan was not being blamed since Deccan Mujahideen were taking the blame, but much to my dismay the good news [?] was short lived and very soon the Indian government was livid at the Pakistani intelligence agencies for having masterminded this attack, in all honesty it might even had been the ISI [ironically we cant trust them either] but whosoever created the mess, Indian or Pakistanis it must be condemned at all costs.

M Junaid Khan at Pro-Pakistan publishes a newsletter that was being distributed publicly:

Even when the shootings were going on in hotels, Indian media and army were blaming ‘Pakistan' for the attacks. The game is clear and sinister. The Indian Intelligence have diverted the global attention towards another issue where they would blame Pakistan for this slaughter and use Barack Obama’s doctrine of attacks on Pakistan to encircle Pakistan from both sides. It is such a shame that Pakistani media is not highlighting this issue and is only repeating what Indians want the world to see and believe.

tperacha at Lahore Metblogs writes his reservations:

Times of India is already reporting that Pakistani militants have been captured and that this whole incident could not have happened without support from across the border. Now I am sure that similar to 2001 Indian Parliament Attack, NADRA issued ID cards will be found in possession of all these terrorists and then it requires not much wit to figure it out! The western media are also jumping on the bandwagon and trying their best to portray this as another al-qaeda attack.

Maybe we should also borrow a page from our neighbor’s book and God forbid, next time when we have a terrorist attack in Pakistan, simply blame it on RAW and get on with our lives. In fact a lot of analysts believe that foreign elements have played part in the recent attacks in Pakistan, but unlike the Indian government, our government doesn’t have the balls to blame any external element.

Adil Najam at Pakistaniat shows his solidarity with Indians in these words:

I, too, am a Mumbaikar today.

I wish I could reach out and for just one moment hold the hands of the woman in this AP photograph. Maybe shed some tears on her shoulder. But I do not know what I would say to her. I do not think she would want me to say much. The expression on her face matches the feeling I have at the pit of my stomach and in the depth of my heart. I think - I hope - that she would understand how I feel. I can only imagine what she is going through.

Rana at The Pakistani Spectator tries to unfold the facts in his opinion:

1. They came on speed boats from Pakistan. WOW :). Indian coastguards intercept fisherman that cross the maritime borders into Indian waters everyday. Thousands rot in Indian jails and here we have guys with sophisticated weapons entering India and their coast gaurds were fast asleep…….hmmmm fishy.

2. Mumbai police intercepted calls made to/from Pakistan….what idiot would do that?? maybe the Mumbai police. Hey there is my number…come get me.

3. They had the “footprints” of the ISI…..did the ISI leave behind its footprints….hmmm

Jokes apart…so who were behind the attacks?

Where all these rumors were flying around, the Indian mainstream media has nonetheless been irresponsible with the blame game. At my blog Guppu.com I have posted a video of a sensationalist reporting by the Indian media speculating about accents of the terrorists.

On a request of the Prime Minister of India a representative of ISI is to visit India for sharing of intelligence. The Prime Minister of Pakistan has promised his country's full support in the investigation. But still fingers are being pointed out towards Pakistan and the blame game continues. A portion of Pakistani media is playing along with the game inciting rumors.

While there’s no doubt that the Indian government is to be blamed for the Mumbai tragedy, it doesn’t change that fact that it was a Pakistan-based terrorist outfit that caused the mayhem.

Who are we kidding? The whole world – including Pakistan – knows that Pakistan is a breeding ground for terrorist organizations. And why waste bandwidth quoting insipid comments from The Pakistani Spectator?

Pakistan knows very well what measures are to be taken for any such so called breeding activity for the terrorists here.. and for your kind info.. operations in Tribal Areas are a proof to it..

So.. why waste time and bandwidth on someone who doesnt even know the facts and figures…

    :)

  • The terror doesnt have any face, religion and nation.Even if we want to express any comments towards PAKISTAN come up with the same trade line.Pakistan is Feeding terror from the begining of their freedom from India.Captured part of Kashmir still they want the Whole Kashmir from India. After each terrorist attack in India, India Govt provides enough evidence that the terrorist are from Pakistan and ISI linked with it.And each time Pakistan Govt denies the same. In Kargil war maximum terrorist were from Pakistan Army. In Parliament attack directly linked with ISI. Mumbai Train blast, got training in Pakistan based terrorist camp.

But fellow Pakistanis are for evidence.

The terror not only shame for Pakistan but also the people living in that country. They dont have any dignity and humanity. They always cowardly act with terror.

The below given link shows the terrorist camps which are running with aid of Pak Govt (ISI).

  • Ok Soniya,

Full danke ki chont par you are backing your government. But Ma’am Excuse us. You dont even know whats going on out here and well Media is covering every bit of it. On the second hand we arent fool like our politicians, we know whats happening outside and that too with full evidence. Again i will repeat its not you but the government who need to wake up and see eyes wide open as to how these terrorist are making your country proud…

Pakistani government is so capable that infiltration happens and then they become noble saying Pakistan ka koi haath nahin hai……… BTW if you think Hollywood comandos are much better than the NSG commando’s. Well whatever it may be
1st – They fought battle with those crazy Terrorist for Real

2nd – I challange your Commandos would be even worse than your government….Well some people were freed atleast on your soil your security forces would be standing hatching eggs when the entire Marriott Hotel was bombed. Oh Ya now tell me were you there to help your government understand facts and figures.

For God sake dont give stupid and pathetic explanations. Lastly as far as daily soaps are concern its meant for you so that you learn from it that kitna bhi bluff karo akhir jeet toh sach ki hoti hai……

So ma’am please first take a good lesson, jott down your governments achievement [i hope there are!] and then debate with us……………

You actually sounded like one of our Politician. Bolte toh bahut hain karte kuch nahin……

Come on Guys… its no time to fight like kids.. Give your self a wake up call.. this bullshit that happened in Mumbai, has been happening in many parts of the world including pakistan, and in my point of view.. instead of putting balmes on others its better if we think some constructive and unite to eliminate such people who are spreading terror and voilence. I see many discriminative emails here and its a shame to see that people in todays world still talk about religion attacks, its a shame guys. Stop accusing the whole nation because of a few black sheep. Some indian people talk as if India never breeded terror, i guess the underworld of Mumbai is famous all over the world. And the domestic anti-government movements that are goin on there. I also see that an indian col himself was involved in train blasts, however initially they balmed Pakistan for that. So its not the first time that india is doing that. But its even more in-human to see that even the younger generation thinks this way.
Well guys, you really need to update your knowledge about rest of the world.. specially PAKISTAN, as it seems like your homework is only limited to MUMBAI.. not even whole of INDIA. Please stop it guys, for how long you will force yourself to turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to reality. Lets face it, PAKISTAN faces so much of terrorism since last 8 years.. we never blamed India, tough we could if we wanted a mess in the region, but dudes its no time for this. What u think only PAKISTAN is the breeding ground? Now Suppose what if all paki camps are finished?? will this finish terrorism?? as if India is so pure like a newly born baby.. where in todays age u still have hindu muslim fights.. you cause offense to minorities of your own country.. India media exposed it.. no outer source.. and then when some thing happens in a reaction.. you dont find a way how to put it on some one else. And what a shame.. you only have one name for everything bad that happens in India…
I guess even if a wife divorces her husband.. the blame will fall on Pakistan.
First pick the speck in your own eye, only then point fingers on others.. Our Government and Public both have shown a positive gesture, but this is not to be taken as our weakness by any means.. we will try our level best to maintain peace.. but if India is so desperate for a war.. then we are also not sleeping, we know how to protect our nations dignity.
However, i just want to end this note with a positive note from people who can really think over.
    Thanks.

  • I think all these comments by sonya are just in air trying to bull shit India.

  • Three cheers for Sonya hip hip hurray……

  • Adeel Hashmi

    lolz @ the comments above

I swear i dont wana laugh but i feel zakir and sonya both study in 2nd standard.
    Sorry no offense<<<<<<<

Guys first of all problems are not only with Pakistan or India, so stop the blame-game. Plzzz
Problem is global, its everywhere. the facts and figures sonya mentioned or zakir mentioned both might me correct or incorrect on their levels. But history has proved that public is never aware of what is actually going on. Its been the honest but bitter truth of both sides of governments. And the same things is being repated in this episode of terrorist attacks.

You guys have been the best to defend your countries here, but fighting or blaming is not the only way to show your love for your country. Messes are available on both sides of the border, India and Pakistan both. So no use to blame on another.

I just wana say guyz these matters wont get solved by whatever we suggesst, propose, notice, observe, or share on these blogs. Our governments will do what they got to do. No matter if public wants to enter war or not.

I just wana say, first of all stop attacking eachother guyz, it wont solve or help the issue, instead we are making the world laugh on our thinking. Please understand, the western world thinks India and Pakistan cant solve a single issue without entering WAR, what image are we giving to the world?

Mistakes have been made by politicians, and media too, but public must not support them or cover up for them. We are mature citizens of free nations, and its our responsibility to think beyond the presented facts and figures.

I believe many of my Indian neighbours will agree to this that we need to make our politicians stop fooling us. People in Pakistan and India have suffered a lot, its not only India or Only Pakistan i am talking about, its the two of them alreafy suffering alot, from tensions present on both sides. Putting all the blame on once, wont help the situation by any means.

Please unite guyz, if pakistani government has offered full support with investagtion, Indian Government must not step back. This issue will not be solved until both unite against the actual culprit.

And in my personal point of view, (its completely my personal thinking) its a third party, thats benefitting due to tensions between India and Pakistan.

Thats all i had to say guyz.

    Hi,

    I have a question:

The very first day of Mumbai attacks, some terrorist organization emailed Indian Press and Media taking the resposibility of the attacks, right?

Why couldnt any of the computer scientist track those emails down?

It would have helped in verifying atleast from what location they have come from.

Otherwise i dont find it sensible to accuse one another, please stop doing this guys, blogs are not made to start a blog war.

I Agree to email above mine.

  • mary

If you guys really want to stop terrorism, then why dont you go and educate the poverty ridden young and the youth of your respective nations,
make them literate, focus their energy into something positive, something good,
Instead of fighting it out here and spreading more bitterness.
