This post is part of the Global Voices coverage on the terror attacks in Mumbai, India on November 26, 2008. Please stay tuned for more news and views as the event unfolds.
The Bangla blogosphere reacted to the Mumbai terror attacks with concern. Condolences poured in with bloggers such as hzbrl saying
These sentiments were echoed by many others. Ahmed Akhtar writes in the comments section of the same post
After hearing the news, some of the bloggers were also concerned whether neighbor Bangladesh would be linked with the incident. This concern has been captured in the comments section here where Hasib asks:
Blogger BDIdol expressed another theory in the same post :
But a bigger worry that bloggers in Bangldesh are expressing is of the possible fallout of this event on the upcoming Bangladesh elections. Shamima Sumi puts this worry into perspective with these words
Blogger Z Zaman expresses hope that the elections will bring in a new dawn in Bangladesh, that it will be a strong statement against terrorism.

why is the indian media so out of date with information regarding bangladesh is it jealousy or ignorance. would like to tell my indian friends particularly to the so called Bengalis enslaved to the Hindians study Bangladesh and come and join us.Let us build a democratic and secular Sonar bangla.
STATE of BELIEF
I commend a person in your stature and all the progressive thinkers in your community who share their views on democratic agendas in Bangladesh. She can have a true democracy within decades with proper grassroots action and funding. As of today, few power elites and Islamic extremists dominating political landscape in Bangladesh. Thus enabling a situation where hopes and dreams of millions are demise each passing year. A system of propaganda political machines, a few known favorites and party thugs are chocking the real progress in Bangladesh. As an expatriate, I am helpless, embarrassed and troubled by pendulum swing of so called “democratic practices.” But I am optimistic about one outcome of the recent election that people are reactive and can be mobilize either extreme of the political spectrum with accommodating environment. My best educated guess for Bangladesh, moving forward… would be that people are generally thoughtful and are held prisoner against their will by the two party system. So, like minded people from all walks of life should form and support a stronger democratic network to unite and mobilize ground operation now instead of deferring for the next time.
I want to engage in progressive movement to form true democratic reforms which badly needed in Bangladesh. We no-longer want to fell victims of repeating false promise of democratic practices by two dominant parties. I hope readers and commentators take positive actions and share ideas how to go about in the future.
Therefore, I need your help networking and help assemble group of new leaders to form a new grassroots party to take place in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is known as democratic country
But as per article ( section ) 70 of Bangladesh Constitution , only key person or party chief. can take decision none the else
Second one is very age old or left over colonial laws and judicial system for ruling the people.
Due to which hundred and thousand of hard earned cash money of common people are spend to conduct these pending suits or litigation in the court which may not be settled even in life time not to speak off any certainty of specific result
Now the question- who are direct beneficiaries of the laws ?
Contesting parties are compelled to spend money by thousands and lacs in addition to valuable times of their active life, year after year
ARE THESE PRODUCTIVE ACTIVITIES ?
If not why the colonial laws and legal system are not changes yet ?
Experts are in opinion that Bangladesh can not face the advancement of Science and Technology like other Asian Countries nearby Bangladesh
Even Bangladesh will not be able to dream the face of digital world with existing Colonial Laws and Legal System .
But it is good for providing money to group of people involved in legal process who will never have any rule in productive activities just to change the face of poverty line. .
Third point which is most significant and important are the lack of accountability in every stage of life for people or Government Personal / Officials
