There are a great number of other things to do in the Dominican Republic besides the ocean and beaches. I've operated a ranch in the central mountains of the island for 14 years now. Other parts of the island, like our small mountain village of Los Quemados near the city of Bonao, offer a glimpse into a more traditional way of life with gorgeous surroundings. We offer hikes to waterfalls on paths that pass by horseback farmers with bags of cafe (coffee beans), whitewater kayaking past locals taking a swim, and hikes in the mountains past remote villages and to the highest point in the Caribbean - Pico Duarte. We're just one place in the Dominican Republic away from the tourist-clad beaches looking to show people around the world all that the Dominican Republic has to over. Eduardo is completely right.
