What had originally started as a march to apply pressure to the Bolivian Congress to pass a law calling for a Referendum to approve the draft Constitution ended as a celebration when the lawmakers reached a compromise, and seemingly pacified the country after several volatile months.
In Bolivia and Venezuela, the democracy is under menace. These countries governments are applying an authoritarian agenda that include one party politics and human rights violations.
The world must be aware monitoring that situation.

Wow.

Not surprisingly this is getting hardly any attention in U.S. media and I hadn't a clue until I came here. Even blogger/columnist Marc Cooper whose usually reliably involved with Latin American matters (he worked for Salvador Allende before his assassination back in the day), is writing about "Sarah Baracuda."

On the other hand, Obama's being attacked for showing insufficient hatred of Hugo Chavez. Just what we need in place of diplomacy -- habitual rage.
