Why are African intellectuals so depressing?, wonders Kenyan blogger Kaasa: “Hello! Today on my way back to the hotel, I saw the current Oct-Dec 2009 BBC Focus on Africa magazine at a newsstand and read Mukoma wa Ngugi’s article “We Are Sailing”. My goodness. I am very happy to see that finally, some attempts at an election are being made after so many years. I am angolan born and have never lived in angola, but I keep up to date on the politics and information on my country. I believe that true change in Angola and other African countries can only be obtained by removing people with decades old mentalities of corruption and stealing from the country to line their personal pockets, and when we can educate the populace on love and prosperity for their nation will encourage growth for them and the country. So I am not counting on Dos Santos for any great change but am putting my money on people like myself and many others in angola and outside angola to achieve prosperity for angola.
We’re all happy with the news. Boa cobertura, parabéns.
