ha-ha… look closer… you can find more info about georgian territory in wikipedia. South Ossetia is not a part of Georgia and never were… Even in USSR it was just a sovereign republic in georgian borders.

non-aggressive pact doesn`t mean that USSR helped nazi. its a bull shit. It was just stupid attempt to keep peace. (Of cource you know that most of european countries tried to keep themselves in peace).You can`t deny the fact that USSR most of all countries in the world suffered from Germany and most of all made an important contribution to victory…

Georgia’s demarche into South Ossetia was not wise. Bear in mind, South Ossetia is Georgian territory. It was demarche against secessionist group controlling part of Georgian territory. By the way 57 ossetians are confirmed dead, not 2000. You should listen less to Genshtab propaganda and more to independent media sources. The statement about protecting your citizens is also fraud because Ossetian “Russian citizens” received their passports in fraudulent way. I am sure you, Ivan, know it pretty well. Who would be next “Russian citizens”? Poles? Ukrainians? Estonians?
But what happened afterwards in Georgia and continues happening, I mean Russian occupation of Georgia, is lot more dramatic with hundreds Georgians dead and tens of thousands Georgians displaced. Russians are still in Georgian mainland maintaining checkpoints.
This is called occupation, Ivan. And your country is Occupier not Liberator.
I am glad Georgia cut ties with your country. There should be no ties with occupiers. Just like USSR cut ties with Germany in 1941.

First I would like to say that all of this killing is senseless. I would like to offer my heartfelt condolences to all of the people over in Georgia right now. For the record the Bush administration told the Georgian government NOT to provoke Russia (probably the only intelligent thing they have done in 8 years) because they would have little ability to protect them. The US did not want this to happen, and even discouraged it. Everyone knows the US backed Georgian president Saakashvili because he was pro Western without properly understanding the diplomatic situation. He was obviously not prepared to deal with Russia and western governments at the same time.

As for being critical of America during WWII (Ivan) did you forget about the Non-Aggression pact and agreement to carve up Eastern Europe between Nazi Germany and the USSR during WWII? Russia was guilty of cooperating with Nazi Germany until Germany violated the pact. Please stop dwelling on the past, almost every country has skeletons in their closet.

To set the record straight I would like to let everyone know that not all Americans are taking Georgia’s side. Saakashvili started this against the advice of the US. There are things both sides could have done differently. For example the Georgian government needs to stop provoking one of the worlds largest military powers. Russia is trying to punish Georgia by attacking areas outside of South Osetia such as Poti. What Russia doesnt realize is they are crippling supply lines to Georgia and hurting the economy which is punishing the people of Georgia and not the government. And last but not least the US needs to stay out of everyone else’s business. We have to accept that we do not need to be part of every decision made globally.

Thank all of you in the area effected for your information. it is so important. I live in rural New Mexico, United States. We have no real information about what is happening there to all of you. But we care to know more. so please keep posting stories about yourselves and what you think is important to tell people like me.
I do not take sides in war. I only wish it to stop. It is too deadly for families and loved ones. We are thinking of you and your pain in all of this. we wish you all the best of luck and safety. We do not understand the reasons why this is happening as your country is so far away. But as human beings with family we are fearful for all of you and are with you in spirit through these fearful times. I hate this for all of you.
To read your stories makes a person see the fear. I wish there was something i could do. it is a helpless feeling to only be able to know something and yet not be able to effect it. We Pray for all of you. you are in our thoughts always.

First I’m terribly sorry for all the death, pain and destruction.

Second, Saakishvally is a sick man and a fool to launch a surprise attack in the middle of the night on a sleeping civilian population. But this must explain why he gets along so well with George Bush and John McSame.

Third, Mark above must be a Zionist-Israeli first American. Too many people in America are apathetic, drunk on consuming in the consumer culture, but very few want war, excepting those who have a Greater Israel as the utmost priority. In many ways, America has been hijacked and doesn’t exist anymore. I appologize for the Banking/Oil/Military cartel that in many ways brought this suffering upon you. Georgian selected leaders that got mixed up with evil, wrong people.

Iran may be next. Numerous warships are now heading there.
