Everything is political in this world, to the politically minded. I have studied under radicals my entire life, and know how much the personal is tied into the political. However, watching a butterfly on the breeze, or a child running happily in an ocean wave, is not political. Neither should the Olympics. Politicians control so much of what goes on in this world... in this one case, we should let our wiser voices prevail. Already the air pollution is being addressed in China in a way never seen before. Knowledge once learned never goes away.

The Chinese people have much to teach us about caring for societies marginalized. For too long, we have seen China as an enemy, instead of a budding friendship. They are finally even letting the Dali Lamma send some of his people. This may seem pure cosmetics, but I believe they are steps forward. Let the CHinese people have their Olympics.

As much as admire people fighting for their rights, the best way to peace is for people to get to know each others concerns, and take them for their own. I would like to see everyone who has a grievance with China allowed to protest, like in any free country, though when they move into terrorism, looting, and other destructive means to acieve their ends, I think they are showing a lack of faith in the resilancy of the Chinese people.
