I am currently 13 years old and all the other teens my age are not aware of the meaning of "volunteer work". It's not a question of them not "caring", it's a question of them not knowing. It sickens me to see a society which only cares about the welfare of itself. Many organizations need volunteers, and what are we doing? Going to malls, buying expensive clothes, and 'living the life'. I wish more could see about the world out there and see that it's more than just partying, playing, and fooling around.
