The local - and very vocal - AMDH has taken an opposite view, citing five known cases of rape or sexual assault - see here: http://ibnkafkasobiterdicta.wordpress.com/2008/07/01/alors-ces-viols/ . The FIDH hasn't rebutted the specifics of these allegations. I'd say that thee jury's still out on the rape issue - the AMDH is due to publish a detailed report on the Ifni riots on July 8th.
