What is going on in Lebanon is a tragedy of epic proportions. Hezbollah is an Iranian military unit. YES – MILITARY UNIT. They get funding, weapons, orders, and overall philisophical direction from Persia. This is NOT A COUP DE’TAT, this is the Persian Invasion of Central and soon nothern Lebanon.
Hezbollah is a scurge and a cancer upon the Lebanese. They intimidate and persecute the native Christians (i.e. the Maronites) who have lived in Lebanon for thousands of years. They invaded Israel and then retreated into (mostly Christian) villages so that the retaliation would hit them hardest. AND LETS BE HONEST HERE, NO MATTER WHAT YOU THINK OF ISRAEL – HEZBOLLAH HAS ABSOLUTELY NO FURTHER GRIEVANCE WITH IT. Israel left ALL OF LEBANON nearly a decade ago!
After Israel left, Hezbollah didn’t put their arms down, instead they moved forward and then decided that they now claim the Shebba Farms… THE SHEBBA FARMS? Part of Lebanon? Say what? On what map, in what year?! (for those who are geographically challenged, Shebba was never part of Lebanon, a part of it was part of Syria, but they lost it after they attempted to invade Israel in 67… Such is war)…
And now Hezbollah is ousting the government of Lebanon with machine guns in the streets.
Lest we be naive – Hezbollah’s aim is to enact a Khomeini like Islamic revolution. I say it is a travesty of epic proportions because Lebanon used to be an international city, the Riveria of the MidEast. It was made up of mostly Christians, who lived peacefully with all their neighbours, Jewish, Christian or Muslim. It was a tourist destination. Even today it has something resembling a democracy.
A Theocracy would change all this. I cannot fathom why it is the Arabs are willing to die against Americans or Jews, but they refuse to fight the tyrants that persecute and kill them in far greater numbers… To be blunt: is it tyranny you dislike, or is it just tyranny from people who do not speak Arabic that you are willing to fight against?
