had it not been for the Syrians south lebanon would have been still occupied by Israel, and maybe the lebanese would be stopping at Israeli check pointe in Beirut every single day like their palestinian counterparts..there would not even be christians in it anymore.
even better, probably there would be NO LEBANON..they would have changed the name to (alternate Palestine) or the new proclaimed land for Palestine and the middle east would be now peaceful without Arab Israeli conflict.
I am half lebanese but the lebanese people are mainly dellusional and have short and long term amnesia.</description>

I doubt you can call that deterrents... when they entered, they bombed half of Lebanon allied to West Beirut, then after the REjectionist Front, they bombed East Beirut for 100 days, then they played a role in different fromts (Mt. Lebanon massacres, AMAL / Hezbollah clashes, AMAL versus PSP/Communists, AMAL / Palestinian Clashes), and several others...</description>
