The real cause of rising food, gasoline and oil prices is the more than $2 trillion in new money created in the global money supply during the past five years by the invisible bankers who see growing populations of people as a threat to their ongoing wealth and richness, thus they are willing to kill off, murder, maim and torture anyone who gets in their way to Infinite wealth which they hoard from the Infinite masses of infinitely ignorant people who allow it to continue by not pinching pennies!

The REAL cause for RISE in PRICE of OIL/FOOD/COMMIDITY is not yet recognised by all thg GOVT REGULATORS in the world.

The main reason is "LOWER MARGIN MONEY %" required
on all the Commodity Exchange, where Speculative position
is built up.

Just increase in Margine requirement ......and see all the PRICE comes down to there real worth.

There will be real disaster if there is SEVERE DRAUGHT,
as this speculator can purchase any quantities to earn profit.

Just imaging situation of draught and where will price go
with this Low Margin - LONG POSITION on commodity exhange of the world.

Everybody in the world will BUY it because ., there is no change to get New supply untill next crop comes in !!!

* Margin requirement should be increased to 100%
* Taxes should be increase on these profits.
* Disallow Rollover / Trades beyond certain limits.

From the earthquake in the east to the storms in the US...To the skyrocketing price of food....

The only ones suprised by these things or frightened by them are those who refuse to believe in The WORD OF GOD.

When Jesus said at the end of the age the earth would begin to have birth pangs..increasingly worse climate and geo physical conditions..He meant it...

It wasnt religious craziness....He wasnt talking about global warming..

When He said..through the prophet John on the island of Patmos that the price of food would be unreachable..and famine and war..earthquakes in various places...would be a sign of the end of the age..He meant it.

He was giving even those who didnt believe in One True God...a chance to cry out to His name for truth.

Food prices will get worse..it was written 2000 years ago...The earth will begin to vomit out its inhabitants..it was writen thousands of years ago....Great cities will disapear with possibly millions dying..it was written thousands of years ago....

So..what do we do?

Call on the name of Jesus....The LORD God Almighty.

Hey John,

thanks for putting the information together from around the world - we are definitely one planet!

I agree with Guyana Girl - lets eat what we grow and make the best of our local foods. It's not going to solve the problem completely but it's surely a step in the right direction

i was just in florida where i went to the supermarket to buy limes...from mexico! i found this ridiculous (especially in florida) and feel that the long distance shipping of foods is a strain on our rescources as well as being unhealthy--fruits and veggies taking a good amount of time to get to market makes the term "fresh" questionable.

i support the local food movement as part of the answer to problems presented in this posting but wonder: what will happen to third world countries if no one in the first world is buying their produce?

Globalisation relies on agriculture (food production), industry, trade and other sectors, where energy and environment (natural resources) are crucial fluids to run the system. The problem is that both energy and the environment are not renewable and in the long-term the catastrophe – insufficient amount of natural resources and food is unavoidable. The process (catastrophe) takes place gradually and our generation is witnessing first signs of it. Short term solution for those who would like to decrease the global pressure is self-sufficiency.

What concerns me about this situation is that when extraordinarily large, concentrated populations become malnourished, this is precisely when pandemics occur. N.B. the influenza pandemic of 1918. Climate change and people movement helped to fuel the various Black Death surges as well. Given the recenty published analysis of how influenza epidemics move around the globe beginning in Asia, there is a very real possibility that we will be experiencing a catastrophe. It won't be 'bird flu' which clearly is a non-starter.

Globalization plus addle brained nonsensical energy policies wherein food is used to power internal combustion engines results in tragedy. We have a situation where not only industry but the food economy have become a 'just in time' logistic. Human beings have made large sociological developments, for better or worse, because there was a consideration of possibility that the future is unpredictable. When the potential 'extra' is burned in automobiles, then there's nothing left to tide over the periods of hunger for people who are vulnerable to the vaguaries of climate.

The madness needs to end and it needs to end soon.

I wonder: what is the REAL cause behind the rising food prices? Is rice and other basic staples being stockpiled somewhere, or ar small producers being left with their rice to rot in their fields because those who usually purchased the rice have decided not to?

The solution is in our hands, I believe.

I think it's time that every citizen around the world who can plant, should start doing this. A person doesn't need a huge plot of land to grow peas, beans, greens, fruits, you'd be surprised what can be done in pots, in small spaces.

I'm not saying that this will help 100%, but it just can ease the pinch.

I'm a great believer in trying rather than not doing anything at all.

There's a lot more that we can do, but will we?

Now the US President is saying that India's prosperous Middle Class is responsible for the global price rise. It seems we now seek more nutritious food (which obviously means we ate junk before we became 'prosperous') and that our improved diet (along with that of our neighbor China) is causing prices to soar! Sigh!

This definitely calls for one of my Newsmericks:

Prez George Bush, it has come to pass,
Has laid blame on our Middle Class.
It seems we have hurled,
The rest of the world,
Into crisis by not chewing grass!

Cheers
