African, you spoke as if you were equating Jason Paz to his own country, Israel, saying “you” this and “you” that. Jason’s opinion does not necessarily reflect the general view of Israel’s government. And I am not trying to take sides here, but I don’t think that Jason’s intent by referring to Africans as “first-rate human beings” was to imply that there are “second-rate human beings.” Though we all know that there are some people out there who are like that – who esteem themselves higher than others just because of their ancestral or national background. I could be wrong about his intent, but that is just a thought. Also, the full context of what Jason said was “They are first-rate human beings in MY book,” which tells me that he is acknowledging that there are OTHERS who consider Africans to be “second-rate human beings” or of a lower status. I, for one, am not one of those people. I treat anyone and everyone of a differing background than mine, the same as I would anyone who shares my own background; I don’t discriminate. If anything, you could at least appreciate Jason’s decency to take the side of being in support of helping the refugees, and not react so adversely.

I am an american jew who chose to come to israel about 4 years ago. I wanted a more meaningful, fulfilling, better life, with safty for our people. last week i had my delusions beat out of me. my girlfriend was being groped by some african fellow in a bar. when i tried to stop it, i was surrounded by about 15 africans. one of then slashed my face open with a broken bottle and i almost lost my eye. “great people”? “first-rate human beings”? I NO LONGER THINK SO! This is not our problem, it is africas problem. we have our own to worry about.

oh, is there a “first-rate human beings” and a “second-rate”? I didn’t know that kind of classification. It seems that you are used to it in Israel!
Well, you didn’t threaten to put the Palestinians into the sea, but you did spoil their land and put them in refugees camps, in prisons and is a 60-years-custody without rights. You want them to admit what you call “the right of Israel to exist”, but in fact, you like them to admit the “divine right” of Israel to colonize. You are the first theocratic, religious and fanatic state in the whole region, believing that divine “promises” are superior than “human rights” of the “Others”. You, actually, started mixing State and religion in a region that was, at the time, secular. Don’t bull-shit us, we know the history. The same history that teaches us that colonization is part of the past and that it won’t be accepted nor tolerated, especially in that specific region. Military power cannot resist history, it’s just a matter of time!!

The 6000 African refugees survive in Israel, because no one else in the neighborhood would let them live. They are first-rate human beings in my book. They have not threatened to put us into the sea. They have not attacked us with AK47’s or rockets.
It is our DUTY to help them any way we can.

Israel should care about the Native Refugees, those Palestinians, living in horrors in their own but colonized country, in refugees camps, bantustans and in one of the biggest and cruel prison in human history: Gaza!!
