<description>It&#039;s such a pleasure to see that you continue to work hard in sharing views and news about Sudanese Thinker. I hope someday to be able to visit the great archaeological sites of the ancient Nubians at Meroe and other locations in the north of Sudan as well as see those great migrating herds of wildlife recently discovered in South Sudan. What a huge tourism draw those two attractions could be for Sudan if there were real peace and an earnest engagement by the government to clean up its act and open the country up to the world.

How many of archaelogical sites will be lost due to flooding upon completion of the new Merowe Dam hydroelectric project? Same question goes for the planned hydroelectric project downstream on the Nile at Kajbar? It would be terrible to lose the legacy of the Nubians and the Black Pharaohs as described in the Feb 2008 special feature at National Geographic magazine. It&#039;s a treasure that belongs to the whole of humankind that is in danger of being erased forever.
